Nomerra, an AI platform built for private market operations, has closed a $2 million seed round. The raise was led by 14Peaks Capital, with participation from Redstone Fintech and senior individuals from firms including KKR and Intapp.

The Problem: An Industry Running on Spreadsheets

Private markets are poised for significant growth — but the operational infrastructure underpinning the sector hasn't kept up. Firms still rely heavily on:

  • Emails and PDFs
  • Disconnected spreadsheets
  • Manual data re-entry across multiple systems, sometimes several times per transaction

Compounding the challenge, operations have grown more complex due to new investor channels, more frequent reporting cycles, evolving regulation, semi-liquid fund structures, evergreen vehicles, and expansion into new asset classes — all while the pool of qualified professionals shrinks.

What Nomerra Builds

Founded by Johannes Gebendorfer and Jakob Zacherl, Nomerra develops AI software to automate end-to-end operational workflows across private markets. The platform is AI-native from the ground up, starting with three core areas:

  1. Fund accounting
  2. Treasury
  3. Transfer agency

By integrating with a firm's existing systems, Nomerra's AI agents access, validate, and process data while adhering to each firm's specific operating procedures. Critically, every output comes with a full audit trail — detailing what was done, why each action was taken, and where the underlying data originated.

Shifting Humans from Doers to Reviewers

The platform is explicitly designed not to replace operational teams, but to change their role. Rather than spending time preparing deliverables, employees shift to reviewing AI-generated outputs through dedicated review interfaces.

"Today, the idea that humans once routed every phone call manually seems absurd. Private market operations are approaching a similar turning point. In a few years, people will look back and wonder how this work was ever done by hand." — Johannes Gebendorfer, co-founder and CEO, Nomerra

What's Next

Nomerra will deploy the new capital to expand its engineering team and accelerate product development. The immediate focus is meeting growing demand from asset servicers and asset managers across Europe and the United States.
